A Bible and a Bat'leth

Two double-edged swords, one angry peacemaker.

Hello neighbour.

I'm not a big fan of self-representation, so I'll try to keep this short. I value friendship and freedom, honour and honesty, laughter, silence, fresh air and deep skies. I like art, alchemy and artifice. I like privacy and restraint, and openness and abandon. All things have their time; their place.

At the moment, I believe that life (as an active thing) exists in the crux of contradiction, so I won't try to convince anyone that I am right. I don't believe that 'good' and 'evil' are co-dependent, but I do believe that no-one can be entirely incorrect or correct, nor can they be expected to be. If someone claims to have it all sorted out, they have simply closed their eyes to the bigger picture, excluding elements that challenge their philosophy, rather than resolving them. Of course, all of this can be disregarded because, of course, I don't claim to have it all sorted out.

What else is there to say? I’m a Christian. I’m an anarchist. I’m a poet. None of those are so complex that they make actions impossible, yet neither are they simple enough to communicate the purity of their essence through language.

Ransom shook his head. 'You do not understand,' he said. 'The poison was brewed in these West lands but it has spat itself everywhere by now. However far you went you would find the machines, the crowded cities, the empty thrones, the false writings, the barren beds: men maddened with false promises and soured with true miseries, worshipping the iron works of their own hands, cut off from the Earth their mother and from the Father in Heaven. You might go East so far that East became West and you returned to Britain across the great Ocean, but even so you would not have come out anywhere into the light. The shadow of one dark wing is over all Tellus.'
-That Hideous Strength

"I'll never forget the first time I saw you. That day you came to the station. There was a serenity about you. Like you had all the answers. It really got on my nerves for a while. But as I got to know you, I realized that you were just as confused as the rest of us. You just accepted your confusion better than anyone I'd ever met. And that's when I knew I loved you."

If we can reach
Beyond the wisdom of this age
Into the foolishness of God
That foolishness will save...

"What I believe in... is faith. Without it, there can be no victory. If the captain's faith is strong, he will prevail."
"That's not much to bet his life on."
"You're wrong. It's everything."
